Chi Nei Tsang

Chi Nei Tsang abdominal massage was developed thousands of years ago by Taoist monks to strengthen their bodies.  We can use these techniques today to improve our health and help others.  It can be administered to a friend or family member as well as yourself.  A few minutes of CNT can become a part of your daily health routine just like brushing your teeth.   Receiving Chi Nei Tsang from a trained practitioner can help address a wide range of health problems.

We focus on the belly because emotional tension often held here interferes with proper organ function.  It affects the ways we take in energy to nourish ourselves (through digestion and breathing) and our ability to eliminate toxins.  During a CNT session gentle manipulations are used with guided breathing to release physical and emotional blockages.   Once these blockages are cleared your energy (chi) can circulate freely, improving the flow of blood and lymph.  As toxins are eliminated and the cells can receive more nutrients, organ function is restored and your body returns to better health.  You have more energy, sleep soundly and are able to enjoy life at its fullest!

Chinese Medicine recognizes a direct relationship between the organs and emotions.   Strong emotions can weaken an organ, and organ disease can  cause its corresponding emotion to come forth.  Someone who is grieving a long time can develop lung weakness.  Worry leads to digestive problems.  Alcoholics with liver damage become irritable and easily angered.   Another example is someone who receives good news, like winning the lottery, and soon after has a heart attack. Here are the relationships: Liver & Anger; Fear & Kidney; Heart & Joy; Spleen & Worry; Lung & Grief

Chi Nei Tsang sessions invoke a deep level of relaxation and help you become more aware of your physical body.  Treatments are very individualized, your practitioner will gauge your response and go at the pace your body is ready for.  A series of treatments leads to improved digestion and elimination, a higher absorption of nutrients, deeper breathing, better circulation, reduced pain, more restful sleep, a stronger immune system, more energy and a greater sense of well-being.  CNT abdominal massage is an integral part of detoxification, which is a cornerstone of any anti-aging program.
